A friend of mine—

| A friend of mine— Shared a snapshot of His Recently departed German Shepherd And I fastened To the glossed-edged Pictured canine. His eyes gleamed Life-full, Open mouth panting A happy time and My mind committed the Image to memory, Captured the Magnificence of this Creature to heart, And later as I drifted off In a doze, I saw the iridescence Of his eyes Burn like a roaring wind afire… intrigue in Its gaze, mysterious noir, Subdued and yet free for In my trance I came to Know his haunts and His un-tethered roams Spread wide devoid of Everything ephemeral and I realized his great forever, Always pure and Wonderful, arching in the Flash through Hours of darkness, Fetching the moon then Twinkling each star With the gentlest touch of His paws, reveling In supernal delight as I whimpered softly my dream ©2011 j.a.o.a. |
